$27 Million verdict: Defect in a self-contained breathing apparatus used by firefighters, resulting in tragic death of a St. Louis firefighter. Verdict consists of $12 Million in compensatory damages to the family and $15 Million for punitive damages against Defendants.

 

$6 Million judgment: United States Supreme Court ruled in favor of a railroad employee who had been struck in the hand by a train, requiring multiple surgeries to his hand, shoulder, and spine and resulting in permanent disability Judgment includes over $1 million in interest to compensate for the delays resulting from appeals.

 

$4.5 Million settlement: Railroad employee suffered severe injuries, including an above-the-knee amputation of his leg, when he became trapped beneath the wheel of a locomotive and dragged by the moving train.

 

$2.3 Million settlement: Railroad operator sues railroad employer when train ran over rough track, injuring worker’s back, neck and spine.

 

$1.5 Million verdict: Railroad trackman injured while working when his truck was forced off the road, causing injuries to his back and neck. Verdict was affirmed by U.S. Supreme Court.
