Madison Reglan Attorney

Reglan® (metoclopramide) is a doctor-prescribed medication that increases the contractions of the stomach and small intestine, helping with the passage of food. Prescribed to both children and adults, Reglan® has been used to treat symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis (a condition in which the stomach does not contract) and gastroesophageal reflux (GER).  It is also given to cancer chemotherapy and surgery patients to prevent nausea and vomiting.

Recently, serious side effects including a neurological disorder called tardive dyskinesia, has been linked to Reglan®. The risk of this potentially permanent movement disorder is thought to increase with extended use of Reglan®. Other serious complications that can occur with Reglan® (metoclopramide) use include:

  • Kidney Disease
  • Death
  • Coma

On February 26, 2009, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) began requiring that drug labels from manufacturers of metoclopramide include a Black Box warning about the risks associated with long-term or high-dose usage.

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with tardive dyskinesia or have had other health complications after using this dangerous drug, please contact a personal injury attorney at Schlichter, Bogard & Denton for a free consultation. Attorneys are now investigating cases throughout the country.

  • Involuntary movement of the hands and fingers
  • Mask-like appearance in the face
  • Rapid eye blinking
  • Constant Lip smacking
