Schlichter, Bogard & Denton believes in the importance of local businesses and supporting community programs and events. The firm is proud to be a strong philanthropic leader in the St. Louis community.
Schlichter, Bogard & Denton encourages supporting the St. Louis community and encourages charitable giving. These philanthropic principles are demonstrated by Schlichter, Bogard & Denton’s volunteerism, donations and sponsorships, all of which are aimed at local charities and causes.
Mentor St. Louis: In addition to working on the Distressed Communities Legislation, and now to save the Missouri Historic Preservation Tax Credits, Jerry Schlichter co- founded Mentor St. Louis, Inc., a not-for-profit organization which obtains adult mentors for elementary students in the St. Louis Public Schools. Mentor St. Louis has become the largest volunteer program in the St. Louis Public Schools and is nationally recognized.
Karen House: Karen House provides shelter for homeless women and children in north St. Louis. Schlichter, Bogard & Denton attorneys and staff regularly volunteer their time and services by preparing meals for Karen House residents, as well as assisting with renovating the facilities. Schlichter, Bogard & Denton also hosts supply drives to donate clothing and supplies to Karen House residents.
Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure: Schlichter, Bogard & Denton participates in the annual Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure.
Black History Month/The Lawyers Association: The Lawyers Association of St. Louis teams up with the Mound City Bar Association to present its annual Black History Month trivia night program.
Legal Services Justice for All Ball: Legal Services of Eastern Missouri provides legal assistance and equal access to justice by giving advice, counsel and litigation for low-income people. The Justice for All Ball raises money to help fund the Legal Services’ programs. Only one in five people who contact Legal Services can be assisted due to limited funding. The funds raised from this Ball narrow the gap.
Other Community and Charitable Organizations:
Schlichter, Bogard & Denton attorneys and staff also support and actively participate in a variety of other non-profit organizations, such as the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Lupus Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, KidSmart-Tools for Learning, Shoah Visual History Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Operation Stand Down, St. Florian Foundation, Mark Joseph James Foundation, and Backstoppers and 100 Neediest Cases-United Way of Greater St. Louis.
Our philosophy of caring about community also comes out in our dedication to our clients. When a person suffers as a result of a dangerous drug injury, he or she does not suffer alone. The community suffers from the diminishment or loss of a valuable person's contribution. And a toxic contamination has the capacity to destroy the entire community.
